At Darroch Medical Solutions, we’re committed to improving patient outcomes and reducing the incidence of adverse events by giving healthcare practitioners a clearer, more continuous understanding of their patients’ physiology.

At Darroch, we call this creating better knowledge workers: enabling clinicians to use data not just to record what happened, but to understand what’s happening.
Team
Darroch Medical Solutions, Inc. was founded in 2018 by three engineers from the University of San Diego with a shared vision: to address the technical and operational limitations of continuous monitoring.

Our leadership combines deep expertise in engineering, clinical collaboration, and healthcare operations to work together to build technologies that improve care and unlock the data needed for better AI and modeling.
Board of Directors
Subramanian (Venkat) Shastri
Chairman
Venkat Shastri is currently the Chairman to the Board of Directors, a Professor of Practice, and the Director of Industry Partnerships at the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering. Prior to joining USD and Darroch, he served as Chief Industry Advisor of PCN Technology, Inc., a position he assumed in December 2013 to strengthen the company’s strategic positioning in the market. In the preceding eight years, as President and CEO, he grew PCN into a market leader in communication, industrial networking and energy management solutions.
Jay Stead
Jay Stead has been based in Auckland, New Zealand since 2002. He provides executive advisory services and serves on the boards of a select group of technology-oriented software, services and Internet businesses around the world.

Key focus areas include strategic planning, leadership development, corporate governance, mergers/acquisitions, effective execution and driving accelerated growth. Jay has broad experience encompassing early developers of Peer-to-Peer and Cloud solutions as well as market leading mobile Apps across a variety of sectors including Healthcare IT, EdTech, GPS/Mapping, Customer Experience, FinTech and RegTech. These award-winning businesses have consistently shown rapid profitable growth and remain clearly focused on providing superior customer service and solutions while emerging as market leaders.
Gareth De Sanctis
Gareth De Sanctis is a San Diego-based investor and advisor, primarily focused on initial-stage start-ups in the technology, medical and environmental sectors. He has invested in 15+ early-stage companies over the past two decades, and in the last five years has become involved in advising and coaching a select group of start-up companies. He serves as a mentor for The University of San Diego’s Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering Etrack program where he coaches engineers in entrepreneurial and technological development. Through the Etrack program he has been involved with Darroch Medical since its inception.

Gareth is the President and Founder of Golden Rule Global, a hedge fund established in 2017 that utilizes wave and pattern theory to trade a variety of investment vehicles.
